Event Manager Database — Export

Export an Event Manager Database as an Excel®™ .xls file.

  1. Click File, select Export and Event Manager Database.

  • The Export Event Manager Database window opens.

  1. Complete the fields using the table below:

Save In

Enter the export .xls save location or use the Browse button to browse to a location.

File Name

Enter the Event Manager Database file name.

File Type

The only available file type is .xls Excel®™ spreadsheet format.

Select Import Action

Simple (Alarm): exports Alarm Actions in a simple format for fast export and import. Use Export and Import to add and edit alarms in Excel®™.

All: exports all Event Manager actions. This file format is complex because of the many different actions and options in each action. Select each action and export them individually to prevent errors.

Select: select each action to export. Best practice is to export and import each action individually.

Create Sample Template

Export an Event Manager Database file to use as a template. The template contains the first ten events from the current project as examples of correct event format, so that events you create in Excel®™ import correctly.

  1. Click Export.

  • The Export Completed window opens.

  1. Click OK.

  • The export is complete.

Edit Exported Data

You can export, edit, and re-import fields.

Add events in the file, then export and import.

Edit export files carefully. Many of the fields require a strict syntax for time, data, embedded data, file names, and additional fields. Edit complex fields in the Event Manager Database to ensure correct syntax and reduce import errors.

Attention: Insert additional rows above the existing End of Record row. Do not modify or copy and paste the End of Record row.

Event Manager Database with One Alarm Event Defined

  1. Use the MS Excel®™ Insert command to create additional rows for new Events.

  2. Select the row above the row identified as End of Record to add rows as needed.

Attention: Do not modify the End of Record Row.

Note: Tag names in the spreadsheet must already exist in the C-more project, or they will not import correctly.
