Address Book Database

The Address Book database contains a list of names and addresses you can use in the Event Manager Database when you configure an email or FTP action.

Click the Database menu and select Address Book from the Main menu.

  • The Address Book window opens with your configured email addresses.

Manage the Address Book Database

In the Address Book database, you can add, edit, delete, copy, paste, import, and filter addresses. You can also configure the list of FTP Servers.

Add

Edit

To edit an email address, select the address and click Edit.

Delete

To delete an email address, select the address(es) and click Delete.

Copy/Paste

To copy and paste an address, select the address(es), click Copy and then Paste.
Copying and pasting creates a duplicate of the copied address(es).

Import

To import an existing address book, click the red Import button.

Export

To export your address book to another address book, click the green Export button.
Import / Export: Import or Export allows you to Import an existing address book from an.XLS or .csv format or save the address list as an.XLS or .csv format to Export. See Import an Address Book Database and Export an Address Book Database.

FTP Server

To configure the list of FTP Servers available for Event Manager FTP actions, click the FTP Server tab.

Add an Email Address

  1. Click Add.

  • The Add Mail dialog box opens.

  1. Complete the fields on the screen using the information in the table below.

  2. Click OK.

  3. The new address is added to the Address Book Database.

Field Description

Name

The name associated with the email address entered below. This name shows in the Event Manager Mail Action when you select Send Address recipients.

Static

Enter the static name for the email address. You cannot change a static name unless you change the C-more project.

Tag Name

Click to select the Tag Name radio button and click the drop-down arrow to select a tag name from the Tag Name database.

If you use an ASCII String Tag Name, you can set a variable email name with the value in the string tag.

Mail Address

The email address associated with the Name above.

Static

Enter the static email address. A Static email address cannot be changed unless you change the C-more project.

Click to select the Tag Name radio button and click the drop-down arrow to select a tag name from the Tag Name database.

Language of Send Message

Send emails to recipients with different message languages in one action. Mail Action sends emails to this recipient in the language you choose.

Click the drop-down arrow and select the recipient language.

Person A is configured in the Address Book with Language 1.

Person B is configured with Language 2.

In Event Manager, the Mail Action Subject and Message Body are configured with different text for Language 1 and Language 2.

Person A receives messages in Language 1.

Person B receives messages in Language 2.
