Use SMTPS — (Legacy) (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol Secure) Method for securing SMTP with transport layer security. It is intended to provided authentication of the communication partners, as well as Data integrity and confidentiality. SMTPS is not a proprietary protocol and not an extension of SMTP. It is just a way to secure SMTP at the transport layer.
Authentication
Account The email server requires an account to send email.
Password The email server requires a password to access the account. It is more and more common that Cloud-based Email Clients require separate Application Passwords for each hardware device. Users may have a different password here than on the web portal. See this knowledge base article for more information: https://support.automationdirect.com/docs/kb-misc-002.pdf

DNS Server Requirement

To use a URL for the SMTP and POP servers, C-more must be able to reach a DNS server and the IP addresses must be known for these servers. If this is not possible, IP addresses can be entered in the SMTP email Server field. To enter DNS IP addresses, go to the Panel Network - Ethernet Port window.

Default Gateway Requirement

For the C-more panel to send email through an email server not on the same LAN, (in other words, maybe over the Internet), a Default Gateway must be set up in the Panel Network - Ethernet Port settings. The Default Gateway is the IP Address of the router that links the panel network to other networks. See Router Setup for Internet Access for more information.
