Ladder - Summary and Fundamentals
Ladder Diagram (LD) is one of the graphical programming languages defined in the standard IEC 61131-3. Ladder Diagram is a programming language that represents a program by a graphical diagram based on the circuit diagrams of relay logic hardware. Ladder Diagram is used to develop software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial applications.
Example of Ladder Diagram (LD) :
You can use Ladder Diagram in the following areas in the XG5000 software:
-
Scan program
-
Task
-
User function
-
User function block
-
Sequential Function Chart (SFC) - to describe the action and transition programs
The following sub-topics provide an overview of programming using Ladder Diagram.
