Read From Panel — USB and Ethernet

Read From Panel Button

Read From Panel is used when the user wants to back up the project currently loaded in a panel and /or to edit the project in the panel.

To Read a Project from a panel, do the following:

  1. From the File menu, if a project is already open you can select Read from Panel to open the Start a Project window.

  1. If a project is not already open, from the File menu select Start Project then Read From Panel in the Start a Project window.

  1. Select the Connection Type.
    Refer to the Communication Ports section in Chapter 2 of the C-more Panel User Manual for information on Connection Types available.
  • If the PC is connected to the panel via USB cable, select the USB option and follow the instructions provided below for USB connection.
  • If the PC is connected to the panel via an Ethernet connection, select the Ethernet option and follow the instructions provided below for Ethernet connection.

Read a Project from a Panel Using a USB Connection

  1. With the Read From Panel button selected, click on the USB radio button to select it. Verify that the connection Indicator turns Green. A Red Indicator indicates a connection failure to the USB port. If the Indicator is Red, check your cable connections.
  2. If the Indicator is Green, click the Read Project button.

 

Read Project from Panel Using an Ethernet Connection

Once a connection is established with the desired panel, click on the OK button and return to the Start a Project/Read From Panel window.

During the Project Reading process, a progress window like the one shown below appears. When the process completes, the Project Reading progress window closes.

  1.  Click OK in the Start Project window and the project read from the panel opens in the work area.
  2. You can Save the project and proceed with the development.
