Online

When beginning a new project or opening an existing project file, the project opens in the “Offline” status, which is disconnected from the CPU. By connecting to the controller (Online), the following features are available:

• Monitoring Mode
• Run, Stop, Debug Modes
• Reboot CPU
• Remove CPU Project
• Compare Retentive Tags
• Get CPU Scan Time
• Check / Upgrade Firmware

Accessing Online

Online can be accessed using three methods:

Method 1

Select the Online Icon on the Control CPU Toolbar.

Method 2

Select the Online menu item from the CPU Menu of the Main Menu.

Method 3

Select Online from the Control CPU topics of the Application Tools panel.

Selecting Online will connect to the last known controller that was connected to the PC.  If no prior connection was made, you will access the CPU Connections browser. This will show you a list of ALL available CPUs within your network.

 

The Online condition is indicated on the Status Bar located at the bottom of the Main Screen as well as the Online Icon on the Control CPU Toolbar.  The Status Bar also provides the CPU USB or IP Address and User Assigned CPU Name.
