Entry Objects — Increment/Decrement Value, Thumbwheel and Slider Objects |
Topic:
CM224![]() |
Entry objects allow the operator to enter or change a numeric value from the panel screen.
|
Note: You can select the option to suppress scientific notation (exponential notation) when using Floating Point Data in the Panel Manager window. This is a global selection and applies to all Floating Point Data display objects. |
Increment/Decrement
The Increment/Decrement Value Object is used to Add or Subtract an amount to the value of a Tag Name by pressing a button on the Panel. The Object uses two Tags, one to read a value from and another to write a modified value to. The Auto Increment /Decrement feature allows the user to continuously increase or decrease the tag value by pressing and holding down either of the object's arrow keys.
Thumbwheel
- Style 1 is a display object until touched; then a pop-up thumbwheel appears on the screen.
- Style 2 is an entry object directly on the screen.
- Both Style 1 and Style 2 require you to touch the ENTER button before the value writes to the tag.
- Style 3 is an entry object directly on the screen but the value writes to the tag directly as you type, without need of an ENTER button.
Slider Object
The ENTER button operation type is called “On Demand” or if you don't need an ENTER action, “Direct” operation type is an option. For the Slider Object, make this choice on the General Tab> OperationType.
