Read from External Clock Source

Topic: CM216

Read from External Clock source allows you to synchronize the C-more Panel time and date to either:

  • Network Time Service
  • Connected PLC tags

You can only select one source.

Network Time Service

Network Time Service synchronizes the date and time of the C-more panel with a network-based time service. You can choose a public time server on the internet, or a time server on your local network.

Click the radio button to enable Use Network Time Service.

Preferred

Enter an IP Address or Server Name for the preferred host time server. If you enter a server name, you must have a configured DNS server for the Ethernet port. See Ethernet Port Setup for more information.

Alternate

To configure a backup Network Time Server, tick this box.

Enter an IP Address or server name for the alternate host time server. If you enter a server name, you must have a configured DNS server for the Ethernet port. See Ethernet Port Setup for more information.

Read from PLC Tags

Read from PLC Tags synchronizes the date and time of the C-more panel with the tags specified addressing a connected PLC.

Click the radio button to enable this feature.

Select tag names associated with PLC addresses for each component of the date and time. The values of the PLC addresses are written to the C-more panel date and time according to the synchronization settings.

The Date and Time tags can be any integer type supported by C-more.

Note: Do not set the Read from PLC Tags to the same tags as the Write to PLC Tags because the feature will not work correctly.
