AutomationDirect Adds Level Switches and Controllers
Cumming, GA --- November 5, 2014 ... AutomationDirect's line of Flowline® level sensors now includes point level switches to provide ultrasonic, vibrating fork, capacitive and buoyancy technologies for a variety of applications. Remote level controllers have also been added to offer an easy-to-configure solution for controlling valves and pumps for automatic empty/fill of tanks, as well as high and low level alarming.
The LU10 series ultrasonic level switches, available in two styles, are intrinsically safe ultrasonic point level switches that provide consistent liquid level detection of chemical, solvent, hydrocarbon and petroleum based liquids. CSA approved for hazardous environments, the switches feature a 60VA relay that is selectable NO/NC via power supply wiring polarity.
The LZ12 vibration fork level switch is a general purpose vibration point level switch that provides reliable liquid level detection of dirty liquids such as those with light to medium coating, scaling or foaming characteristics, such as wastewater, diluted caustic soda and light weight oil. For optimum performance, the liquid level switch automatically adjusts for coating build up and, if necessary, outputs a proactive maintenance alarm to request cleaning; the 60VA relay is selectable NO/NC via power supply wiring polarity.
The LP15 capacitance level switch, designed for non-metallic tanks, is a general purpose guard capacitance point level switch that provides high or low liquid level detection of water based conductive liquids with light coating, crystalizing or scaling characteristics, such as copper sulfate and brine. The level switch features a 60VA relay with selectable NO/NC state via power supply wiring polarity.
The LV10 general purpose buoyancy level switch provides reliable liquid level detection of relatively clean water and chemical solutions, such as boric acid and ultrapure water. The baffle body eliminates level switch chatter caused by turbulence. The level switch can wire directly to a PLC/SCADA or controller and is fitted with a 15VA dry contact. The submersible polypropylene (PP) liquid level sensor mounts vertically inside the tank as a high level or low level alarm.
Switch-Pro™ remote general purpose level controllers are offered in three configurations for alarms, pump and valve control. The controllers are 35mm DIN rail or panel mountable and feature fail-safe relay control of pumps or valves with a 0-60 second delay. Easy to configure, without programming software, the remote level controllers are designed with LED indicators for sensor, power and relay status. These controllers accept discrete level sensor inputs and provide 10A relays for alarms or control.
Also available is the LC52 Datapoint™ remote level controller that provides single tank level indication with 2 relays, up to three setpoints and an isolated analog repeater. The controller accepts a 4-20 mA input from any type of level transmitter. The 3.5 digit LED display indicates level in custom engineering units and provides easy set up with pushbutton calibration for span, display and relay set points; a lock-out feature prevents inadvertent setting changes.
With prices starting at $102, all Flowline level switches and controllers are made in the USA and are backed with a one-year warranty. To learn more, visit: www.automationdirect.com/level-sensors.
