SNTP Functions
The XMC supports the Network Time Protocol (NTP) through the built-in ethernet port. NTP is used to synchronize time using the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP).

The XMC must be connected to a network with an NTP server to use this function.

SNTP Client Setup

In the XG5000 project, open the Local Ethernet Parameter settings in the Project window.

Configure the IP Address of the XMC.

Select the FTP/SNTP Settings tab.

Enable the checkboxes labeled Enable NTP Time Synchronization and Behavior when initializing NTP.

Enter the NTP server information. Note: XMC must have network access to these servers to work.

Set the Synchronization Cycle to choose how often the XMC will synchronize its time with the NTP server.

Set the Time Zone Setting to the appropriate time zone for the XMC.

Press OK button to finish configuration and write the project to the XMC.
