Installation of the XMC

This topic covers the installation of the XMC Motion Controller.

The XMC mounts to a 35mm DIN rail.

To mount the XMC to a DIN rail:

Step Action
1 Pull down the DIN rail hook on the bottom of the XMC.
2 Install the XMC on the DIN rail.
3 Push the DIN rail hook up to secure the XMC to the DIN rail.

Follow clearance guidelines for ventilation, easier removal, and installation.

Clearance to the sides depends on whether you have wire duct, panel wall, or another piece of equipment on the sides.

  • Wire duct requires 5mm of clearance or more

  • Panel wall requires 20mm of clearance or more

  • Another device requires 50mm of clearance or more

Mounting Clearance Front of Rack

Clearance of 100mm or more is recommended for the front of the device. The "front" is the side with I/O connectors and LED status lights.

The rack should be mounted horizontally with the face of the modules perpendicular to the ground.
