Which Programming Language to Choose in XG5000 Software

The XEM CPU is based on the IEC61131-3 standard. It offers the capability to write code in 4 different programming languages via XG5000 software. These program types can all be used to accomplish the same task, but each offers advantages/disadvantages depending on the overall goals and capabilities of the user.

Most of the 700+ Functions/Function blocks in XG500 are available for use in all of the programming languages. All languages support online monitoring. Ladder Diagram and Structured Text support online editing.

Program Languages available:

• Ladder (LD)

• Structured Text (ST)

• Sequential Function Chart (SFC)
