Import Tags from LS Electric PLC to C-More

To import tags from a LS Electric PLC project into a C-more project, you are importing the LS PLC project Addresses that have Variable names assigned to them to the Tag Name Database of the C-more project.

In the XG5000 PLC programming software, click the Project menu, select Save Variable Names to File...

The following window opens.

Select the items to export and click the Save button

Within the C-more programming software, click the File menu, then select Import and Tag Name Database.

Navigate to the folder where you saved the exported .csv in the XG5000 software, select the file and click Open.

Once you have selected the .csv file, there are a few options to choose from in the Import Tag Name Database dialog window. Use the information in the table to complete the fields on the screen.

Field	Description
File Path	This was automatically populated with the path of the selected file. Do not change unless you intend to select a different file to import.
CSV Format	Select LS Electric XEM
Device	Choose the appropriate device configured in the Protocol Manager to which these imported tags will be assigned.
Append Text	Up to 10 characters can be entered that will be added to the end of the Tag Names being created. Allows for device- specific text to be added to the tags as they are imported. This is useful for situations where C-more is communicating with multiple systems containing the same tag names. For example: Machine 1 and Machine 2 both have the tag “Cycle_Start”. When importing Machine 1 tags, you could place the text “_Machine1” in the Append Text field and then when importing Machine 2 tags, you could place the text “_Machine2” in the Append Text field and you would have 2 tags that look like this: Cycle_Start_Machine1 and Cycle_Start_Machine2.
Overwrite Existing Tags	Overwrites only those tags of the same name when importing. Select this option when appropriate. If this is not selected and duplicate tag names are encountered, an error will be shown in the import log window.
